Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

When you create an account, we collect your full name, phone number and/or email address, and optionally a profile photo and bio.

When you list equipment for rent or for sale, we store the listing details you provide, including photos, price, location, and contact phone numbers.

If you contact us about advertising, we keep the name, contact details and message you send us, so that we can reply and manage the booking.

If you reached the Platform through a partner link, we record on your account which partner it was and which campaign. This is written once at registration and never changes afterwards. We also record when you open a partner promo code, so we can tell how much the programme is used.

We also automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and listing view statistics

2. How we use your data

Your data is used to create and verify your account, publish listings, connect you with other users, and keep the Platform secure and functional.

Your email may be used to send welcome messages, verification codes, and password reset notifications.

We also use activity data in aggregate to understand how the Platform is used and to measure how well our own advertising works

3. Third-party services

We use Twilio Verify to verify phone numbers. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from your Google account.

Emails are sent via Resend, and images are stored in cloud storage.

We use Google Analytics to measure how the Platform is used, and the Meta pixel to measure our own advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Both of these receive information about the pages you open on spectex.am.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy.

We send benefit programme partners no personal data at all. They receive monthly totals only: how many people followed their link, how many registered, and how many times the promo code was opened. No names, no phone numbers, no email addresses, and nothing about who any individual visitor was

4. Cookies, local storage and tracking

The Platform uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember recently viewed listings. That information stays on your device.

If you reached the Platform through a partner link, we set two cookies of our own: one keeps the partner identifier for up to 30 days so your registration can be credited, the other keeps an anonymous visitor number for up to a year so a single visit is not counted twice. Neither one holds your name, phone number or email.

Separately, Google Analytics and the Meta pixel set their own cookies and send information about your visit, such as the pages you open and the listings you view, to Google and to Meta. This happens across the Platform.

You can block them through your browser settings or a content blocker. The Platform will continue to work normally if you do

5. Advertising and measurement

SPECTEX advertises on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta pixel on this site tells us which of those advertisements led to a visit, and allows Meta to show our advertisements to people whose interests resemble those of our visitors.

The events we send include page views, listing views, searches, and the moment someone opens the contact details on a listing. We do not send Meta your name, your phone number, or the content of any message.

You can limit how Meta uses this in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

Banner advertising shown on SPECTEX itself is booked directly with us and is the same for everyone. It is not personalised and does not track you

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings. That permanently removes your profile, listings, drafts, favorites, saved sign-in sessions, and every photo you uploaded, and it cannot be undone.

Messages you send us through the contact form are stored separately from your account, together with the email address you gave and any image you attached. They remain in our records after the account is deleted, so that we keep a history of the enquiries we have answered. Write to us at the address below if you want those removed as well.

Some data may be kept longer where retention is required by law
